Brian Woodward, FINEX Credit Union
A graduate of Villanova University with a degree in Finance, John began working with Solidus as an account executive, advancing to vice president and CFO before becoming president in 2004. His primary focus is organizational efficiency, intelligent decision-making, and fiscal responsibility. John’s versatile industry experience has been instrumental in growing the company’s assets and a factor in his determination that Solidus diversify and also serve medical, education, and insurance facilities.
John is involved with several commercial real estate entities and industry peer groups, including serving five years on the National Independent Contract Dealers Council. He is currently on the board of Grace Academy, a tuition-free middle school for underserved middle school girls in Hartford. John has also served on the board for the Hartford Golf Club.
Mark has been a leading voice on innovative branch design for decades, and continues to push the boundaries of how banks and credit unions can evolve to better serve their communities. His vision of providing superlative customer experience via data, efficiencies, staffing models and technology has placed Solidus at the vanguard of design-build for the financial industry.
Mark’s commitment to devising ever-more efficient forms of project management is supported by more than 40 years’ experience supplying guidance to senior management. His best-practice commentaries have appeared in The Financial Brand and he is quoted at length in the book The Commercial Real Estate Revolution on the virtues of Integrated Project Delivery as a construction process.
Brian has more than 20 years’ experience in business ownership and management. A licensed general contractor in Alaska for over 15 years, he is an avid adventurer and global traveler, having completed ultra-marathons around the world. Brian leads Solidus’ operations, its department heads and administrative support staff.
Brian is a graduate of Colorado State University and holds a professional certificate in Business Strategy and Accounting from Cornell University, and earned an Executive Master of Business Administration from Quantic School of Business and Technology. He serves as a board member of Children in Placement Inc., which serves children in the child welfare system across Connecticut; and as a member of the Town of West Hartford’s Design Review Advisory Committee. He resides in West Hartford with his wife and their three children.
Charlie has worked with financial industry executives for over 25 years with a focus on integrated technology, design and construction. He joined Solidus in 2013, bringing industry knowledge that helps successfully execute projects from small renovations to significant sized new construction. Charlie is happy to be a resource for clients, and is always mindful of the fact that no single approach is the right one for every individual or project. He describes his relationships with clients as “trust-building exercises rather than a hard close”.
Alan has almost 35 years of experience in design and construction for the financial industry and has worked in various capacities including interior design, sales, and project management. His areas of expertise span both the technical and creative aspects of design-build projects, as well as building a presence in new trade areas. Alan resides in Massachusetts with his wife and two daughters, and in his spare time he enjoys cycling and participates in several charity rides for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Adam joined Solidus in 2020. He brings proven skills as a relationship builder and sales veteran with a deep understanding of construction and financial services. He most recently worked in sales for a large design-build firm and has prior experience in the pharmaceutical, transportation and software industries.
Adam loves sports and spending time with his family. A graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a degree in economics, Adam currently resides in Pittsburgh, Penn. with his wife and two children.
Allison most recently served as operations manager for The Shoppes at Buckland Hills, and previously worked for The Savings Institute Bank & Trust where she managed risk, facilities, and security. She was formerly on the board of directors for United Services, a mental health and human services organization that serves northeastern Connecticut. Allison resides in Ashford, Conn. with her two children, ages 14 and 5. She enjoys golf and playing the violin.
Greg has a background in both civil and commercial construction. He served in project manager roles with Liberty Bank and Newmark Knight & Frank, as a contractor for Pratt & Whitney in Middletown. He earlier worked as a project manager and estimator with Tilcon CT, a heavy highway construction firm. Greg is working toward a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management at Central Connecticut State University. He holds a certificate in Construction Management from Capital Community College and an Electrical Certification from Porter and Chester Institute. Greg is proficient with construction management software platforms such as Pro Core, HCSS, and Trimble Business Center HCE. He is also OSHA 30 certified. Greg lives in Colchester with his wife and two daughters. Outside of work, he enjoys mountain biking, hiking, running, and camping.
Doug advises the Solidus executive team on management, planning and strategic marketing initiatives. He is skilled at business development and communications, drawing on decades of experience in economic development, public relations, market research, event planning and media relations. Doug earned a master’s degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and completed his undergraduate work in journalism at UConn. He’s an admitted sports nut, particularly pro and college football, adopting of late the Oklahoma Sooners where two of his three children attend college. Doug also loves travel, having visited all 50 states, many with his wife of 30+ years.
Jennifer oversees project management, coordinates Solidus site supervisors, provides workforce training, and develops the company’s health and safety standards. She also administers job site and logistic plans.
A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Jen has been with Solidus since 1994. She facilitates communications with architects, designers, engineers, city officials, manufacturers, subcontractors, and clients using a wide range of construction project management and financial software applications.
Dave’s expertise in project cost management ensures materials and resources are properly allocated and jobs fall within time and cost limits. He organizes projects into detailed phases, as well as works both internally and externally with professional contractors, a keystone role in the business. Dave’s a valued resource for solving technical problems and assigning quality personnel to specific projects. His great experience and personality have earned him the respect of subcontractors and building officials alike. Dave has been with Solidus since 1995.
Nicole plays an essential and versatile role focused on construction administration here at Solidus. She excels in situations that require strict time management, attention to detail, and organization. Her responsibilities involve communicating and exchanging information with individuals from every department, each with their own unique personalities and agendas. Nicole joined Solidus in 2018.
Flora is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She has more than 30 years of experience, including 24 years in retail accounting for the cellular industry and six years in construction.
Patty joined Solidus in 2019. She grew up in Alaska where for 16 years she co-owned a construction company with her husband (Brian) and was responsible for the company’s books and finances. Patty enjoys spending time with her three children outdoors, especially cheering on their athletic and creative endeavors.
Lindsay joined Solidus in 2020 and brings skills ranging from space planning, design presentations and construction document preparation to client relationships and marketing. Most recently an interior designer and project manager with New England Kitchen and Bath, Lindsay has also worked with OC Design, Atlantic Woodcraft, and Advent Design Inc. She has created designs for healthcare facilities, libraries, restaurants, public facilities, churches and banks. Lindsay has worked with several Solidus clients over the years including Union Savings Bank, Seasons Federal Credit Union, and Salisbury Bank, among others. As a result, she is familiar with the comprehensive Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) process at Solidus. Lindsay holds a degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburg. She is a mother of three and a resident of Somers, Connecticut.
Jess creates graphic art renderings in support of renovations and rebranding, including corporate logos as well as other interior and exterior design needs. Some of her favorite branding items to work on at Solidus include a custom 22′ vestibule mural, a branded light cube that changes colors, and a custom check desk that takes the shape of a logo when viewed from above. Jess resides in Massachusetts with her husband, a television producer, and their cat and dog. In her spare time she loves to oil paint, and she has illustrated numerous children’s books. You can be sure she will bring her creativity to every project.
It is with great pleasure and excitement that we introduce our new Project Engineer, Emanuel Scott. As a former NCAA Division 1 football player Emanuel is eager to be part of a dedicated team and use his skills and experience to support our project managers, field staff and estimators. In return, the Solidus family will be cheering Emanuel on as he works to complete his master’s degree in construction management at Central Connecticut State University. Recent graduates often bring fresh perspective to the industries they pursue and we look forward to seeing all the valuable contributions Emanuel will make in this role.
Sean is responsible for estimating flooring budgets and project management. He joined Solidus after career stops with Tesla, Sunrun, and BK Floors, where he worked in sales, estimating and project management roles. He holds a degree in Environmental Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University. His love of the outdoors extends to saltwater fishing, hiking and camping. A Connecticut native, Sean grew up in Wilton and currently resides in Avon.
Mike has been with Solidus since 2016 and has over 25 years of commercial construction experience. He is responsible for managing Solidus’ field superintendents, carpenters, and subcontractors. In addition, he is responsible for plan review, site inspections, and quality control. He also helps facilitate project estimating and project execution. Mike is very well organized and dedicated to customer service. He has been working in the trade since 1982 and joined Solidus in 2016.
Heather has nearly 20 years’ experience in the art and science of sales. She is skilled at differentiated messaging, discerning the true needs of top business leaders, earning trust, and creating genuine, strategic partnerships. Heather’s life revolves around her faith and family, and she is a grateful mother of two boys.
With Solidus since 1995, Ray has proven expertise in several disciplines, including commercial carpentry, drywall, hardware, acoustical ceilings, project supervision, scheduling and estimating.
Gil brings expertise from his work in New York City as a Head Carpenter, Head Fly Man and Head of Automation at a Broadway theater. His experience there coupled with his excellent communication and management skills are a valuable asset to the projects he’s tasked with. Gil joined the Solidus team in 2015.
Dan has worked with Solidus since 1996. He enjoys working with wood both on and off the job. In his spare time he crafts custom walking sticks as a hobby. He resides in East Granby with his two dogs, a Siberian husky and a pug.
Jeremy has worked in construction for 20 years, joining Solidus in 2019. When he was very young, Jeremy would often accompany his grandfather, an electrician, to job sites which sparked his interest in the field. Years later, Jeremy now has three children of his own who enjoy working with him and learning the trade!
Dave’s excellent organizational skills and unflagging attention to detail have led to him taking responsibility for project sequencing and overseeing timely execution of tasks by subcontractors and related personnel. Dave develops and maintains project safety protocols and coordinates all activities involved in the projects he oversees. Dave’s been with Solidus since 1995.
Tom brings more than 20 years’ experience in the construction industry to Solidus. He coordinates all construction project activities and ensures they are completed in a thorough and timely manner. Tom is OSHA and BPI certified and is dedicated to safety protocols. He studied business management at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.
Tom lives in Wolcott, Conn. with his fiancé and two amazing dogs. Outside work, he enjoys camping, kayaking, tuna fishing, and snowmobiling.
Mike draws on 20 years’ experience working in multiple construction fields. He is a motorcycle enthusiast and a father of four. In his off hours, Mike loves spending time with his family.
