The Renovation Ripple Effect

Category: News • November 9, 2023

What do your employees see when they survey their workspace, and how does this picture influence how they feel and perform? We believe a bright, beautiful, and well-equipped workspace will encourage your staff to approach each day with a positive attitude and inspire them to raise their own bar, thus providing the exceptional service your customers expect and deserve.

The executive team at Cornerstone Bank recognizes the importance of maintaining their staff’s motivation and enthusiasm, and with this in mind they have begun the process of renovating the branches across their network; first in Worcester and now in Sturbridge. Our partnership with this savvy client has produced some incredible results, but perhaps none more drastic than this latest collaboration.

Tasked with the mission of developing a new collection of brand standards, our team went to work on a variety of tailored design elements for this client. A large, illuminated sign set against a crisp white stone veneer now sits prominently behind the teller stations at both locations. This sophisticated new look will be carried over into all of their future renovations, as will the custom cube shaped fixture featuring their logo that hangs in the front and rear entrances of the building. We also established an updated finish pallet that was skillfully integrated throughout the space. This includes a bold red paint color that was applied to select portions of the walls and the vaulted, coffered ceiling.

With a lobby dominated by long, unnecessary teller lines and no designated lounge area for customers to sit comfortably, the original branch design was a classic illustration of the old, traditional service model that no longer meets the consultative banking needs of today. By taking these important steps to modernize and invigorate their retail space, Cornerstone Bank has reinforced their commitment to both their staff and their customers by enhancing both of their experiences.

Renovating an occupied space like this one comes with a specific set of challenges, but we used our extensive experience to execute this work in phases, minimizing the disruption to the bank’s workflow and the unsightly disorder that typically comes with a construction project. When all was said and done the client was so pleased that they threw our field superintendent a farewell party to thank him for his impressive oversight of all the moving parts involved in this endeavor. This partnership continues to be a winning combination and we look forward to working with this team for years to come.
